About us
Ground Floor Drinkers is a new literary magazine from Glasgow, Scotland. It's creators, Laura Becherer and Cameo Marlatt, are doctoral students in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow.
Laura, from Wisconsin, writes primarily fiction and personal essays. She is interested in women's narratives, trauma, and fairy tales. Cameo, from Canada, is a poet who focuses on animal representation in poetry. Laura and Cameo just finished their first book, the feminist cocktail recipe volume A Drink of One's Own: Cocktails for Literary Ladies, which is available on Amazon (see link to your right). Both Laura and Cameo have taught creative writing and edited magazines at a university level. They were keen to create a new project together and decided on a literary magazine. GFD is primarily interested in marginalised voices and experiences, especially those from new writers who haven't had much publishing experience. |
